DRIVERS: Wilson Staff Shockwave
What Wilson say;
With Shockwave, the formula was simple: reduce weight, increase speed and add distance. Every gram was scrutinized, resulting in a 10% lighter weight than standard drivers for superior club head speed and added distance.
1. Variable Face Thickness
Proprietary variable face thickness design delivers a sweet spot twice as wide as a constant thickness face.
2. Tungsten Weight Screw
Weight is pulled deep into the head with a 5 gram tungsten weight screw designed to promote a higher ball flight while maintaining a high MOI for a more stable head.
3. AXIVCore Super-Lite Shaft
The major weight reduction came from the 50 gram UST Mamiya AXIVCore Super-Lite Shaft, where we even saved precious grams by eliminating decals and non-essential paint.

Custom Fit Centre comments;
Finally Wilson has brought out a half decent driver!
The sound and feel have been drastically improved when compared with previous models. These are important aspects when choosing a driver, because if these are below par the performance is almost irrelevant.
It has a fairly attractive, elongated head, which is spoilt by the slightly onset face. This would generally make the club a lot more difficult to square up, however the softer, lighter shaft counters this resulting in a fairly neutral bias.
At 50 grams this AxivCore Mamiya shaft is 46” in length and has a high torque of 5º making this the ideal shaft for medium-to-slower swingers wanting maximum assistance from the shaft.
Although the face can be squared up, this is by no means a draw biased driver, so is therefore no good for faders/slicers of the ball. With its light weight this driver feels effortless to swing and results in longer than average tee shots.
FOR: Good sound, feel and value for money
AGAINST: The onset face won't suit faders of the ball. The shaft feels a touch soft.
VERDICT: Ideal for slow/medium swing speed players who hit the ball straight and are looking for good value for money. We have rated this driver 3 as it is an average performer
