Exciting times, Mizuno the masters of forging since 1968, has released a new iron series called the JPX 919’s. There are 3 models available in the new series, the Hot Metal, Forged and Tour irons. Mizuno has already had 3 wins in as many weeks on the PGA circuit, two of those coming from uncontracted players with their new JPX 919 Tour irons.
Mizuno’s master craftsman have produced another beautiful classic semi blade iron for the accomplished golfers out there. Forged from a single block of Mizuno’s signature 1025E mild carbon steel providing maximum feel and consistency. This process eliminates all impurities from the club head, making the irons unbeatable when it comes to consistency.
The 919 Tour irons have a very short blade length with minimal offset for maximum workability. The forged head also helps with the workability and getting the ball to stop quickly on the greens, that’s provided you don’t hit the ball in the teeth.
The 919 Tour irons come out standard with Dynamic Gold 120 steel shafts, however, if you prefer a different shaft, Mizuno will accommodate you with almost any mainstream shaft you desire at no upcharge! The Dynamic Gold 120 shafts are heavy, high-performance shafts made for golfers that hit the ball with great power, if you don’t, the irons will feel very hard at impact. You can change the shaft to something that’s lighter and softer on the hands. The 919 Tour iron heads are very demanding, and we feel that if the Dynamic Gold shaft feels too heavy or hard for you, the 919 Tour irons are probably not going to be your ideal set.
Mizuno will also customize your new set to any way that you’d like, for example, If you want the 919 Tour irons in a 9 iron and Pitching wedge and the rest of the set in the 919 Hot Metal heads, Mizuno will do it for you at no upcharge. They will also blend the set perfectly for you so that your gaping between irons will be precise.
We loved hitting the JPX 919 Tour irons, but remember, they’re not for the faint-hearted. If you’re a superb ball striker and you’re looking for a classic semi blade iron, offering the ultimate in feel and workability, the Mizuno JPX 919 Tour irons will be exceptionally hard to beat.
