Ping’s new i210 irons have replaced the i200 series and we feel it’s a worthy replacement. We found them to have a very similar look and set up to the i500 irons so it makes perfect sense to compare them against each other.
The i210 irons have a more forgiving look than the i500 irons. They have a very similar amount of offset to the i500’s, so they are equally as easy to shape through the air. We found the feel off the face to be much softer than the i500’s. Ping say this is due to the larger and softer Elastomer insert behind the face.
The lofts on the standard i210 irons are weaker than the standard i500’s so if you’re looking for workability with added distance, the i500’s would be a better choice. That being said, the i210’s are available in a power spec version. The lofts are slightly stronger in this version which will help with extra distance. If you really like the look and feel of the i210 irons but can’t afford to surrender much distance, the power spec version will be the one for you.
The i210 irons do have the new Hydropearl Chrome 2.0 face for improved consistency off the face from shots played out the rough and wet grass.
We feel the i210 irons would be ideally suited to single figure golfers looking for a player’s style clubhead with very soft feel off the face and tour workability. If you’re interested in the i210 irons, it may well be worth your while to get fitted into them because Ping offer various shaft options to optimise your launch, feel and distance.

There is an additional volume of the custom tuning port, which also increases perimeter weighting and provides swingweight finetuning this allows for a 30% larger insert and creates 25% more face contact also resulting in activation of the elastomer to ensure a soft, pleasing feel.
