The Titleist 718 CB irons are the type of irons that we’ve come to expect from Titleist, only this time
they are a little bit better. They have that beautiful sleek look you expect to see in a players iron and
their performance is without doubt, second to none.
After putting them to the test we have to say that these were our favourite Titleist player’s irons, this
despite the fact that the AP2s are the most used iron by Titleist staff players. We loved the classic
look with less offset for added workability. What was very surprising for us, was how forgiving the
irons were considering they are classic semi blades. The reason for this must be what Titleist have
hidden under the bonnet so to speak. The 718 CBs have high density tungsten in the heel and toe
from the 2 iron through to the 7 iron heads and they have widened the sweet spot making the 718
CBs a little less brutal when hit off-centre shots. The 8 iron to PW are still classic blade heads.
You’ll notice a redefined leading edge on the irons, which helps you make better contact with the
ball from a variety of different lies. This is very important if you need to dig the ball out of a tight,
There is not much more we can say about these exquisitely crafted irons, except that they are aimed
at low handicap golfers that understands their game and hits the majority of their shots out of the
middle of the clubface. If you enjoy shaping your shots into different pin locations on the green and
distance is of no importance to you, then you’ll love Titleist 718 CB irons.
